Welcome to Planning with Phan
Welcome to Planning with Phan!
Planning with Phan are the posts that will cover my love of all things planner and office supplies. I have a propensity to collect (or as some may call it HOARD) office supplies including but not limited to pens (mainly gel and fountain pens), stickers, highlighters, markers, and notebooks.
But aside from hoarding all of these supplies, I also have an obsession with trying to find the perfect planner. I will share the different things I do in my planner to help me stay organized, new fun ways I have started using my planner, and sharing what my weekly planning looks like (if I have happen to actually make a weekly plan….) I love drawing inspiration from what others have done so I think that it is only right that I share what I do as well.
Also in my Planning with Phan posts, I will share what tips I have to keep me organized and why it works for me. I think understanding how you work and think is what makes planning successful (or not in my many previous attempts to plan well.) I learned this when my husband started to pick up on my love for all things planning and office supplies and tried to copy my planning style during dental school. While it kind of worked for him, it also felt very burdensome for him because the way I plan did not fit into how he thinks and organizes himself. So, it got me thinking on how we could tweak what I do to help him maximize his planner. It still a work in progress but it has helped both of us understand how the other thinks and how it plays a large role in how we plan and stay organize as a family and individuals.
I also will try to post pictures of my planner (or short videos if I can learn how to edit videos) to show how I plan and my process as I work through the week. You will probably notice each week there will be some major changes to how I plan as well as many things that are consistent throughout the weeks. Juggling work, two kids, and writing is not something I have mastered and is still largely a work in progress for me. I just wanted to share my journey’s up and downs with you all as I figure out how to balance this act.
So if you’re a planning geek, just starting, or somewhere in between please join me on Planning with Phan as I explore the world of planning and office supplies!
